Position Overview

We’re looking for an experienced Credit Origination Manager to lead and develop a team of Business Funding Analysts, Administrators and Graduates responsible for assessing, managing and progressing commercial funding applications.

You will be part of a team that shape the quality, consistency and efficiency of the credit origination process, develop technical capability within your team, and work closely with Credit, Legal and Business Development to ensure businesses receive exceptional service throughout their funding journey.

  • Leading, coaching and developing a high-performing Credit Origination team.
  • Driving the successful delivery of commercial funding applications from submission through to disbursement.
  • Ensuring high-quality credit assessments through coaching, quality reviews and continuous feedback.
  • Optimising workflows and removing bottlenecks to improve turnaround times and client experience.
  • Partnering with Business Development Managers to prioritise applications and support funding objectives.
  • Ensuring consistent application of lending policies, internal standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Analysing performance trends and implementing practical improvements that enhance quality, productivity and service.
  • Designing onboarding and technical training programmes that build a highly skilled and commercially minded team.
  • Supporting complex funding applications through financial analysis and sound commercial judgement.
  • Building a culture of accountability, ownership and continuous improvement.
  • Strong understanding of commercial lending, credit origination and the end-to-end funding lifecycle.
  • Ability to interpret financial statements, management accounts, cash flows and business performance.
  • Excellent commercial judgement, analytical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trusted relationships across the business.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with lending or banking systems.
  • Bachelor of Commerce Degree.
  • 5-7 years’ experience within commercial lending, banking or financial services with exposure to credit applications.
  • At least five years’ experience leading and developing teams.
